Markus Arfert did what no Swede has done in 32 years – took the European Championship gold in kendo.
Arfert struck in the European Championship in the Netherlands when he finally defeated Briton James Wright.
”Everything fell into place and I have honestly still not taken in that I won yet”, says Arfert in a press release from the Swedish Budo and Martial Arts Federation.
Arfert's European Championship gold is the first since Mats Wahlqvist won in 1993.
