By lunchtime, it was clear that New York Rangers star Zibanejad would miss the match against Canada when he was absent from Tre Kronor's match warm-up.

He is ill and will not play tonight. We are keeping him away from the rest of the gang during the day. Hopefully, he will perk up during the next 24 hours, said Tre Kronor's national team captain Sam Hallam.

Zibanejad was also missing when the line-ups became official.

Isac Lundeström replaces him in the line with Alexander Wennberg and Leo Carlsson.

Jacob Markström returns in goal after Samuel Ersson guarded the goal in the 4–0 win against France on Saturday.

Canada has been hit by a setback when Bo Horvat, Vancouver star, is injured and will miss the rest of the tournament.

Horvat has scored four goals and eight points in six matches in the World Championship.

Sweden needs to take a point against Canada to secure the group win and get one of the group fours as an opponent in the quarterfinal.

Sweden's match against Canada at the Globe starts at 8:20 PM.

Sweden's team:
