New Jersey goalkeeper Jacob Markström was responsible for the goal-scoring pass for the winning goal when Chicago was defeated in overtime.

New Jersey won the NHL game away 4–3.

Markström sent the puck all the way to the offensive blue to Simon Nemec who shot in the crossbar 3:28 into overtime.

"He was waiting for it (the pass). It was wide open so just a little soft pass," Markström said, according to nhl.com.

Nemec was the Devils' hero by scoring a hat trick. In addition to the winning goal, the Slovak was responsible for the tie at 3–3 in the third period.

"It was his night, a big night for him, topped off with an overtime hat trick. It was big," said Markström, who took 17 shots in the game.
