Marius Borg Høiby will not be released on bail, Court of Appeal rules

Marius Borg Høiby will not be released, the Court of Appeal announced, according to Norway’s Dagbladet.

The announcement comes after the Oslo District Court ruled on Monday that the “bonus prince”, son of Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit, should be released from custody on bail.

The prosecution appealed the district court’s decision, and the Court of Appeal has now ruled on the case.

Høiby, 29, was sentenced to four years in prison in June. He was remanded in custody when his trial began in February but has been living at the Crown Prince’s residence, Skaugum, under house arrest since July.
