This means that Høiby, son of Norway's Queen Mette-Marit, will have his case retried. It is still unclear when this will happen.
He is, of course, satisfied, says Høiby's defence lawyer Petar Sekulic to Aftenposten .
"Our clients are disappointed. (...) A new trial will be a huge additional burden for them," say the plaintiffs' attorneys Heidi Reisvang and John Christian Elden to Dagbladet .
Høiby, 29, was sentenced in June to four years in prison for rape and assault, among other charges. He has since been held in custody in ankle shackles while the verdict is finalised. He was, however, allowed to attend King Harald's funeral.
Høiby denies rape and assault in a close relationship.
