Marie Silkeberg Wins This Year’s Bellman Prize for Poetry

Marie Silkeberg has been awarded this year’s Bellman Prize by the Swedish Academy. The prize is worth SEK 250,000.

Silkeberg was born in 1961 and works as a poet, essayist, playwright and translator. She made her debut in 1990 with the poetry collection “Komma och gå”. Her latest book, “Hjärta, jägare”, due to be published in 2025, is the first part of a planned trilogy about grief.

The Bellman Prize is awarded by the Emma and Anders Zorn Foundation’s donation fund and goes to “an outstanding Swedish poet”. Last year’s winner was Helena Eriksson.
