The Swedish Artists' Council sees her as "a pioneer" who "touched generations of listeners and fellow artists with her primal power and sincerity". Marie Bergman has recorded 21 albums and won Melodifestivalen three times. Among her biggest hits are Ola Magnell's "Ingen kommer undan politiken" and her own "Varje människa bär en historia" and "Brevet".
After a few years as a visiting professor of singing in Denmark, she began to tire of a pedagogy that made students feel inadequate.
It was so driven by the norm, people said "I don't like my voice, I don't sound like Beyoncé".
Instead, she has explored music and the deeper functions of the voice, something she has used in her “New Year’s Intonations,” a kind of sing-along in Katarina Church in Stockholm. This fall, she is also starting her own school.
I believe that there is a kind of natural talent in humans, I call it counterforce, it's about bringing out a resource that we own.
