Marianne Mörck Returns to Stage in Modern Czardasfurstinnan

This time, Marianne Mörck plays the princess's mother who does everything to stay in the spotlight.

The mother won the Hungarian Melodifestivalen in 1986 and is now pushing her daughter to also become a star. Everything to be able to continue to be seen herself. But the daughter would rather study art history in Lund, says Marianne Mörck.

Theme: Melodifestivalen

The performance is set up at the ten-year-old Kammaropera Syd in Ystad with the premiere on July 4. Marianne Mörck describes it as a modern and fun "Czardasfurstinnan" – with a Melodifestivalen theme.

It's like a summer flirt! I hope people receive it with an open mind and just have fun, she says.

The new text has been written by the opera singer Rickard Söderberg who also plays one of the roles. And considering the theme, it's maybe not so surprising that the Melodifestivalen veteran Christer Björkman also appears in the performance and debuts as an operetta singer.

We haven't worked together before, so it's going to be so much fun!

"Don't think about my age"

The buildup before the premiere consists of yoga, magnesium supplements, and lots of vitamins.

I've emptied the pharmacies of vitamins to have the energy and my home is in total chaos because I never have time to unpack. But I'm a happy person. I see this as my vacation.

In the fall, Marianne Mörck will move to Stockholm to play in the comedy "Erik and Elisabet's vacation" at Orionteatern at the same time as she will record another film in the detective series "Nellie Rapp" in Gothenburg. So, it doesn't seem like there will be any slowdown for the 75-year-old Mörck.

It happens when they call and ask. I think about my age, but nobody else seems to do that since the calls keep coming. But someday I'll probably have to listen to my body!
