After Bernardo Silva left Manchester City, speculation is now growing about who will take over the captaincy.
But it doesn't seem that top scorer and this summer's Norwegian World Cup hero Erling Braut Haaland is up for the task.
New coach Enzo Maresca believes he scores too often.
"When I was at Leicester and Chelsea, we had a rule that the captain would come to the bench and receive instructions when we scored. So if the captain scored, he wasn't allowed to celebrate. Just imagine the problem Erling would have had then," Maresca said during a press conference at a training camp in South Korea.
Haaland won the Premier League's top scorer award last season with 27 goals.
