This year's Mare Kandre Prize goes to the author Donia Saleh.

Saleh receives the award for "building new, surprising worlds with her simultaneously experimental and brutal-realist novels," as part of the justification reads.

Donia Saleh receives the prize for the novels "Ya Leila" (2020) and "Röd galla" (2024).

The Mare Kandre Prize is awarded by the magazine 20-tal in collaboration with the family of the late author Mare Kandre.
