After nearly 2,000 episodes, the last episode of "WTF with Marc Maron" will be released in the fall. Then it's over. The podcast pioneer is quitting, writes Deadline.
"For 16 years, we've done this, and it's gone well. But now it's time, good people. It's time. 'WTF' is over. It's our decision. The last episode will be broadcast sometime in the fall," says Maron in the episode released on Monday.
It was on September 1, 2009, that Marc Maron started his podcast. Quickly, it became one of the world's largest, and the combination of humor and interviews became trend-setting, even in Sweden, where "Värvet's" Kristoffer Triumf and Filip Hammar and Fredrik Wikingsson mentioned him as a great role model for their own podcasts.
Marc Maron quickly became influential and one of the then-young genre's first international stars, so much that he got to interview then-President Barack Obama in his podcast in 2015.
