For more than 90 minutes, Gianinna testified, fighting back tears as she described the day her father died and how she ran to his bedside, only to be told there was nothing that could be done.
Gianinna also spoke about the "manipulation" she experienced from the medical team that was supposed to protect and help the Argentine icon.
I trusted these three people, who only manipulated us and left my son without a grandfather, she said.
Gianinna also testified that doctors convinced them that Maradona could recover at home after surgery for a blood clot in his brain.
They guided us on how to proceed.
The defendants face 8 to 25 years in prison. Diego Maradona died in 2020, aged 60.
Corrected: A previous version contained an incorrect name for Maradona; the correct thing is that he was the grandfather of Gianinna's children.
