North Korea has sent thousands of troops to participate in the war against Ukraine, including the Kursk region where Ukrainian forces made an offensive earlier this year. According to the source, the troops appear to be inexperienced in combat, which could explain the high number of dead and wounded.

This is not battle-hardened troops, they have not been in combat before.

The White House confirmed on Monday that the North Korean forces have fought on the front lines together with Russian troops, and in some cases independently near Kursk. Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj also said on Saturday that Russia has begun using the North Korean soldiers in attacks on Ukrainian positions in Kursk.
