Black smoke could be seen rising from the building where firefighters were battling flames, an AFP reporter in the city reported.
“The Russians have fired aerial bombs that have destroyed housing and damaged an infrastructure facility and an educational institution,” announced Ivan Fedorov, Ukrainian commander in Zaporizhia.
Five children are among the injured, according to Ukrainian rescue services.
