A man in his 20s is convicted of 18 cases of child rape in Hudiksvall municipality, writes Hudiksvall newspaper. The Court of Appeal for Lower Norrland increases the district court's sentence from four years' imprisonment to five and a half years' imprisonment.
Consent between the man and the child existed, notes the court, but it does not matter. The man had sexual intercourse with a child, who, in the eyes of the law, cannot give consent.
The man is convicted of a total of 18 cases of child rape and five cases of sexual assault against a child and is also to pay damages to the victim of 370,000 kronor.
In questioning, the man has admitted to several of the sexual acts, but denied the crime.
