Pacquiao, who last boxed in 2021, has reunited with his trainer Freddie Roach and is training for the match in Hollywood, USA.

Four years of rest have been good for me, my body needed to recover, says Pacquiao at a press conference, according to AFP.

Despite the break, he believes his physical condition holds up.

I am fast, I move like before. I still run in the mountains with the young guys, says Pacquiao and added that the spark remains:

I have missed boxing. The passion and fire in my eyes are still there.

Whether the comeback is a one-time thing or the start of something more, Pacquiao does not want to determine.

We take one match at a time. After this, we'll see what we want to do, he said.

At the same time, critical voices are being raised within the boxing world. The British promoter Eddie Hearn recently expressed concern over the veteran's return and meant that Barrios, 30, can become too young and strong for Pacquiao. Himself, he shrugs at the criticism.

Just watch on July 19. It will be a good fight.

Pacquiao has won World Championship titles in eight weight classes during his career, which began in 1995.
