It is the health and medical services that must report confirmed cases to the regional infectious disease physician and the Public Health Agency.
"The aim is to improve infectious disease control work through strengthened monitoring and follow-up of the diseases," the authority writes, referring to a government decision on amendments to the infectious disease control ordinance.
"It will also be easier to evaluate the effects of the introduction of vaccination and catch-up vaccination against chickenpox within the childhood vaccination programme, as well as the efforts to treat infants with protective antibodies against severe RSV infection," the authority adds.
