Manchester United co-owner Jim Ratcliffe is under fire after a television interview with Sky Sports in which he said, "Britain has been colonized by immigrants."

The statement drew strong criticism from Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

In the interview with Sky Sports, Ratcliffe also claimed that "very high levels of immigration" to the UK have damaged the economy.

Now United's co-owners are apologizing for their choice of words.

"I regret that my choice of words has upset some people in the UK and Europe and caused concern," Ratcliffe said.

Ratcliffe also risks being punished by the English Football Association.
