The last time this happened was almost exactly two years ago, when City suffered four consecutive league defeats. Saturday night's loss followed a 1-2 away defeat to Aston Villa and a 0-1 home defeat to Brighton.
City are already six points behind last season's champions, Arsenal.
Manchester City started the league season with seven straight wins. This coincided with the scandal that erupted when it emerged that the club had broken more than 100 of the Premier League's financial rules between 2009 and 2018. Manchester City faces a hefty fine for those breaches - and now the team is also in crisis on the pitch.
At Nottingham Forest, things were more cheerful for obvious reasons. Striker Liam Delap - who was part of Manchester City's youth setup - put on a great show, scoring two superb goals to make it 2-0 and 3-1. The team climbed out of the relegation zone.
