In the 112th minute, Marcos Leonardo could score the winning goal, a rebound and his second goal in the match, and secure one of the biggest wins in Middle Eastern football history.

The match became a proper thriller that swung back and forth in history where al-Hilal took the lead three times – including twice in extra time. Among other things, Kalidou Koulibaly made the 3-2 goal in the 94th minute, but Manchester City's Phil Foden equalized ten minutes later.

The match was 2-2 after 90 minutes and after the eventful extra time, Manchester City's fiasco was complete. The disappointment was great after the match.

There is great disappointment, as we wanted to do better and reach the quarterfinals. We had big ambitions with this tournament, but that's how football is, says Manchester City star Bernardo Silva according to Foot Mercato.

The winning al-Hilal is now moving on and will meet Brazilian Fluminense on Friday, who ran over Inter in their round of 16.
