Nico O'Reilly opened the scoring for second-placed City against sixth-placed Chelsea in London. The 21-year-old headed home to make it 1-0 in the 51st minute. Six minutes later, Marc Guehi made it 2-0, and ten minutes after that Jérémy Doku made it 3-0.
With the victory, Manchester City went from 61 to 64 points and are six points behind Arsenal in the table. The league-leading London side unexpectedly lost 2-1 at home to mid-table Bournemouth on Saturday.
On Sunday next week, City, with one game in hand, will host Arsenal in the 33rd of 38 league rounds.
