He has claimed that he was psychotic at the time of the incident and therefore should not be convicted of a crime.
But the district court finds that the man was able to control his actions, and it also believes that he realised there was a risk that someone could be harmed or killed.
The collision on May 22 occurred near the hospital area. The man said he was on his way to the psychiatric emergency department.
He is convicted of gross negligence in traffic and causing death. Another person was injured in the accident and he is therefore also convicted of causing bodily harm. He is also convicted of five counts of threatening a public official, Malmö District Court writes in a press release.
