According to the indictment, the man in his 30s is said to have registered at an address in Stockholm to avoid taking a DNA test at home. He then ordered a fake driver's license in which his own picture was replaced with a picture of a friend.
It was then that the friend showed up at a social services office south of Stockholm and provided the DNA sample, writes Strengnäs Tidning.
However, the family court conducted closer checks after the child's mother suspected the test had been tampered with. After a new test, the man confessed; the retaken test showed that he is the child's father.
The man and his friend are now being charged with serious violations of the law.
