The detention hearings will be held in Nacka District Court on Friday, according to SVT.
The man was arrested just before midnight on Thursday night after a major police operation in the archipelago involving naval police and helicopters.
The woman, who was also in her 50s, was found dead in a home in Värmdö municipality on Tuesday. Police are not looking for any additional suspects.
