The operation has been going on for just over three years, and over 120 sex buyers have been identified, the prosecutor has previously stated.

"I believe that the pimping has been carried out on a larger scale and that it has involved ruthless exploitation of the plaintiff," prosecutor Ida Annerstedt told TT.

Lived off the income

The man was arrested in October 2025, after being reported by his then-wife. According to the indictment, the man pressured his wife to sell sex against her will, while living off the income from the business.

He is also suspected of being directly involved: handling her online ads, booking clients and planning the sexual acts that would be performed. He planned the price and payment, drove the woman to and from sex buyers and supervised meetings with clients, according to the indictment.

According to the investigation, the sex trade involved both physical encounters and internet contact. Among the more than 120 men, several are suspected of having purchased sex on multiple occasions.

Rape and assault

The man is also charged with eight counts of rape against the woman, as well as four counts of attempted rape. He is charged with four counts of assault, three of which were against his former wife.

The indictment also includes a large number of occasions when the man allegedly made death threats against the woman, and threatened to harm other people in her vicinity.

According to SVT Västernorrland, around 30 of the suspected sex buyers will be tried in the same case as the man suspected of pimping.

The accused man previously held a high position within the Hells Angels. He denies any wrongdoing.

Anyone who promotes or makes money from someone else performing sexual acts for payment can be convicted of procuring.

For ordinary pimping, the maximum sentence is four years in prison. For a felony, the maximum sentence is ten years.

When assessing whether the crime is serious, particular consideration shall be given to whether it concerned an activity that was carried out on a large scale, resulted in significant gain or involved the reckless exploitation of another person.
