The man is accused of killing his wife by drowning her in Sigtunafjärden in Lake Mälaren. The wife had filed for divorce, moved, and met a new man.
The suspected crime took place in January 2015, and the man was arrested then. After a month he was released because the evidence against him was insufficient.
The investigation was resumed in 2024. The case went to trial, and after the main hearing concluded, Attunda District Court announced that the man will once again be released on bail pending sentencing.
The verdict will be announced on June 8.
