A worker who was unauthorized to perform electrical work suffered cardiac arrest in an electrical accident and was revived with cardiopulmonary resuscitation, reports P4 Kristianstad.

The accident occurred in Stockholm when the man, from southern Sweden, was working on marking cables in an electrical cabinet – despite not being qualified to work on electricity – and received alternating current through his body and got stuck in the cabinet. In addition to cardiac arrest, the man also suffered myocardial infarction, but was able to be revived with cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

The cause of the accident was that the employer had not disconnected the power correctly. The company has been ordered to pay 200,000 kronor for work environment violations. If they do not accept it, the matter can be decided in court, according to the radio.
