A 20-year-old man did not want to perform his military service and convinced a friend to stab him with a knife in one foot. Now they are both sentenced to fines.

The stabbing occurred in February this year at Skaraborg's regiment, reports Skövde Nyheter.

The 20-year-old who got the knife in his foot is convicted of neglecting his military service duty while his friend is convicted of aiding the crime. Both, who have confessed, will pay 40 day fines of 50 kronor.

The stabbing led to a wound that caused nerve damage and reduced sensation in parts of the foot and toes, shows the preliminary investigation.
