A man in his 60s has been shot in Malmö. A suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting.

The gunshot victim was hit in the leg and has been taken to hospital, according to police spokesperson Jakob Palmgren.

The background to the shooting on Wednesday afternoon is unknown. The perpetrator fled the scene. At 6 p.m., police announced that a suspect in his 50s had been arrested.

Initially, police said the shooting took place inside a pool hall. However, it was later reported that the man who was shot said the shooting took place outside in a park.

Police have no information about anyone else being injured in the shooting.

The incident is being investigated as a felony weapons offense and aggravated assault.

We have cordoned off the crime scene and surrounding area and are interviewing witnesses who were at the scene, Jakob Palmgren says.
