According to initial reports, it was a ricochet, probably from a hunting rifle.
"It appears to be an accident, a shot that went off unintentionally," says Fredrik Svedemyr, press spokesperson for Police Region West.
The injured person was taken to hospital by air ambulance and is reported to be awake and able to speak. A preliminary investigation into causing bodily harm has been launched.
