The incident occurred during a shooting practice. The man allegedly fired a shot and was then hit by a ricochet.
"He was hit in the upper body, according to initial reports," says police spokesperson Marie Andersson.
The man, who is in his mid-40s, was taken to hospital by ambulance.
The incident occurred early Thursday afternoon. In the evening, Östersund Hospital announced that the man had minor injuries, local media reported.
The incident is being investigated by the police, and weapons have been seized for technical examination.
