A man in his 60s suffered life-threatening injuries after his apartment in central Sandviken caught fire on Monday evening.
The alarm came in at 20.45 and when the rescue service arrived, the man was found and taken seriously injured by ambulance to the hospital.
The fire started in his apartment and was limited to it. It was extinguished fairly quickly, says Christoffer Johansson, commander at Police Region Mitt.
The man is suspected of gross negligence and the apartment is cordoned off for technical investigation.
