Svea Court of Appeal, which now changes the acquittal verdict that Nacka District Court gave in April this year, now sentences the man to seven years in prison for severe general dangerous destruction and severe negligence causing bodily harm.

It was when the woman was going to go out with her dog in December last year that her gate suddenly exploded. The woman, who was then located by the gate in Tyresö, southeast of Stockholm, received life-threatening injuries. Her dog was also severely injured and was later put down.

Three suspected perpetrators were arrested after the incident. One of them, a boy who was 16 years old at the time of the incident, was sentenced in the district court in the spring to closed youth care, according to the verdict in Nacka District Court. The two other men were acquitted at the time of responsibility, since the prosecutor according to the court had not presented sufficient evidence that they had participated in the crime. One of the men was, however, sentenced to prison for narcotics offenses and money laundering.

The prosecutor has since then presented the evidence required for a conviction for the man who is now sentenced by the Court of Appeal to prison. The man is also sentenced to deportation with a ban on returning to Sweden.
