The man is sentenced for rape, aggravated assault, unlawful deprivation of liberty, and drug offenses. He is also to pay 327,000 in damages to the woman.
It was in November last year that the man sent friend requests to several people on the social media platform Snapchat, according to himself, in search of potential drug customers. The woman replied and accepted an invitation to visit the man in Malmö the same evening.
Once there, he locked her in, raped and subjected her to what the district court describes as a several-hour-long assault in the form of torture. The man is said to have hit, kicked, and trampled on the woman, and driven a pizza cutter back and forth across her face. He is also said to have attempted to extort 50,000 kronor from the woman's mother.
In the end, the woman managed to escape from the apartment and got help to get to a healthcare center.
According to the man, who has admitted to parts of the assault, he believed that the woman was sent as bait by people who wanted to kill him.
