Several fires broke out in a short period on Stora Essingen in Stockholm during the spring. Among other things, a car was set on fire, and the flames risked spreading to an apartment building.
The man was also suspected of setting fire to a house on the island, but he was never charged because the cause of the fire could not be determined.
The man, who denies the crime, has been sentenced to forensic psychiatric care with special discharge consideration.
