A man who tried to smuggle in a record large amount of amphetamine is also sentenced by the court of appeal to eight years in prison for extremely serious narcotics smuggling. He will also be deported.

It was the Customs Service that made the seizure of approximately 363 kilos of narcotics in February this year, of which 351 kilos consisted of amphetamine. It is the largest individual seizure of amphetamine that the Customs Service has made ever, according to the authority, and in the case that followed the seizure, the Court of Appeal for Skåne and Blekinge has now also had its say.

The 46-year-old man tried to smuggle in the narcotics, which are estimated to be worth 80 million kronor, in a tractor unit that came on a ferry from Germany to Malmö.
