The driver, a man in his 70s, drove off the road for an unknown reason at around 10 p.m. on Tuesday.
The person was traveling alone in the car. The accident occurred at a T-intersection. The car drove off the road and into a sign, Åsa Mjörndal, police spokesperson, told SVT Västerbotten.
The accident occurred near the town of Medle, west of Skellefteå.
