The man was diving with a group. The cause of the accident is unclear, according to police.
"It's a group that had been diving and then something went wrong. We don't know what happened, but it will, of course, be investigated," Leif Fransson, press spokesman for the police, told Sydsvenskan.
The alarm was received at 12:49 on Wednesday.
The police have questioned everyone who participated in the dive.
"Then we will compile it and see what information it provides about the accident," Fransson said.
