The charges concern sexual abuse of children, serious sexual harassment of children – several serious cases, harassment and child pornography offenses.
A total of 15 girls are plaintiffs, all in elementary school age at the time of the crimes, and several of the offenses are alleged to have been committed at a school in Uppsala where the man was employed.
It's about touching children at a school where he has worked, mainly. In some cases, we have brought charges because he has secretly photographed children, says prosecutor and investigation leader Bente Erfäldt.
Many years in school
The man worked, according to Erfäldt, as a resource, janitor and leisure educator at the school in question since 2023. The suspected criminal activity extends from then until the spring of 2025, when the man was detained.
He has been in the school world for a long time and has been employed at other schools before, says the prosecutor.
Some of the criminal activity is linked to a previous school he has worked at. It's about possession of child pornography, she continues.

The case began when some of the children told other school staff and guardians.
The evidence against the man, who is previously unpunished and denies the crimes, consists, among other things, of the girls' stories and technical evidence in the form of images and films found in the man's possession.
