The man who has now been released and another man in his 40s were arrested on Saturday on suspicion of killing a man in his 50s in an apartment in Skellefteå on Friday evening.
After the arrest, the men were questioned, and the younger man was later released.
The suspicions remain, says Marie Andersson, the police press spokesperson, to Norran.
The second man remains in custody on suspicion of murder.
