The man, who is in his mid-30s, was found dead on the morning of New Year's Eve.
The man died during the night of December 31. The inmate was found dead in the morning," Mikael Ringberger, press secretary at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, told the newspaper.
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service does not state how the man died, but will investigate the incident.
"We investigate all deaths within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service," Ringberger told Aftonbladet.
