After the accident, the man was unconscious, but Region Skåne later announced that he was slightly injured.
The police in Halland began pursuing the man at 00:40 after he refused to stop for a patrol that suspected drunk driving and other traffic offences.
During the chase, police saw the man throw objects from the vehicle. The locations are being searched to see what was thrown.
"We are looking for weapons, but we haven't found anything yet," said Morten Gunneng, the police officer on duty.
