The accident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. when a car and a truck collided head-on. The car sustained extensive damage and caught fire after the collision.
The truck overturned and ended up on its side in a ditch. It is now being towed from the scene and both vehicles have been seized for technical examination, said Alexander Sterner.
The truck driver escaped without physical injuries.
According to police, the driver of the car was alone in the car. The incident is being investigated as manslaughter.
