It was on Saturday, just after 8 pm, when several shots were fired in the Brynäs district of Gävle. Two people were hit by the bullets, one of them died on the spot and the other was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A man was arrested during the night towards Sunday and was detained, suspected of the shooting. He is now being requested to be remanded in custody, suspected of murder and attempted murder.
The man, who is in his 25s, is from Gävle and is known to the police from before. Both the suspect and the victims are, according to the police, linked to the local gang environment.
