It is a large number of crime victims living in both Sweden and other countries who have been exposed to "serious and repeated threats" with requests to pay in large amounts in cryptocurrencies to the man, according to a press release from the Prosecution Authority.
The threats have been reinforced through films and images depicting serious violent acts.
It was cut-off fingers in video clips attached and bombs that were sent into houses, says Charlotte Perrelli, who became most scared that her son was also threatened.
She discovered the emails by chance in the spam folder. Then the deadline had passed and three threatening reminders had arrived.
The man is also alleged to have called the police with false alarms that serious violent acts were imminent against the persons or their relatives. According to the prosecutor, the threats have alluded to affiliation with well-known criminal gangs.
Perrelli believes that the man will be convicted, and the penalty scale includes several years in prison as a possible sentence.
But it will take longer for me to heal, she says.
