According to ÖP, the chainsaw is said to have kicked back, and in connection with this, the young man got the chain in his stomach. He was then taken to the hospital by ambulance.

They thought it would be the worst possible scenario. He got a serious injury, but no vital parts were hit and overall it went well, says investigation leader Patrik Åström to the newspaper.

A report of bodily harm has been filed, but only as a routine measure.

Everything indicates that it's an accident, says Åström.

In parallel with this, the Work Environment Authority will initiate an investigation to see if there are deficiencies in the work environment. It may be about potential deficiencies in training or instructions regarding the handling of the chainsaw.
