A 25-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds outdoors in Gislaved at 21.40 on Thursday evening.
The man was taken to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries, but is not considered to be life-threateningly injured.
Shortly after the shooting, a man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, but was later released.
In the case in Gislaved, we have no detained persons at present, says police spokesperson Olle Älveroth.
The crime classification is attempted murder and serious weapons offense.
During the night, another violent crime occurred where a 20-year-old man with stab wounds sought medical attention at the hospital in Värnamo. The man was injured with some kind of weapon, but the police do not want to elaborate on what it is.
A man was admitted who is assessed to be seriously injured and in that case, we have worked broadly and intensively throughout the night, says Älveroth and continues:
We have a person who has been arrested and detained on suspicion of attempted murder.
Whether there are links between the two incidents, the police cannot confirm.
We have two serious violent crimes that we have been alerted to in a short period of time and a geographic proximity. It becomes natural for us to examine in an initial investigative stage whether there may be links, says Älveroth.
