A man died after falling 120 meters from a scaffold at Grimeton in Varberg Municipality. The CEO of the company responsible for the scaffolding is now being sentenced after the fatal accident, several media outlets report.

The accident occurred in September 2022 at the World Heritage Grimeton Radio Station. The man was working at a height of about 120 meters when the height-adjustable platform he was on collapsed to the ground.

Varberg District Court has now convicted the CEO of the company that installed the platform for manslaughter and work environment violations. He is sentenced to a suspended sentence and 60 daily fines. The company must also pay a corporate fine of 1.5 million kronor.

The verdict will be appealed, the CEO's lawyer told several media outlets.
