A 27-year-old man is being prosecuted for attempted murder of a woman in Färgelanda municipality. The incident took place at the end of January at a group home where the man lived and the woman worked.

The woman was attacked with a sharp object and suffered severe injuries to her head and neck. She was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

"The investigation shows that the man, with the help of a sharp object, caused extensive injuries to the woman's head and face. The injuries that occurred were life-threatening, but she survived thanks to emergency care," says prosecutor Hanna Marelius in a press release.

In addition to attempted murder, the man is also being prosecuted for unlawful threats on two occasions during the autumn of 2024.

The trial is planned to last for two days and the prosecutor is demanding deportation. The man denies the crime.
