The man who was found shot in a forest in Klippan municipality has died. The police suspect that he may have been shot by a hunter – but it can also be a matter of an accident.

On Sunday evening, the police announced that the 55-year-old man who was found shot has died, and that his relatives have been notified.

The man was found by a resident in the area at half past eleven on Sunday morning. The resident is said to be acquainted with the shot man.

There was a hunt in the area at the time when the man was found.

There are several hunting parties out in the area. It is unclear if he has been shot by a hunter, but it is one of the hypotheses we have, says the police's press spokesperson Evelina Olsson.

Another hypothesis is that it is an accident where the man has accidentally shot himself.

The man had a weapon with him, he is himself a hunter even if he has not been part of any of the hunting parties. It is not impossible that it is a pure accident, says the police's press spokesperson Sara Andersson.

The incident is being investigated as gross negligence leading to another person's death. Several weapons have been seized by the police. No one is suspected.
